Historic photographs, documents and works of art tell the story of the heroic life and career of Harriet Tubman in this special exhibition, "Harriet Tubman: A Moses to Her People."
An African American woman who escaped slavery, Harriett Ross Tubman (1822-1913) went on to become an abolitionist, conductor of the Underground Railroad, and an activist for rights of African Americans and women. The Tubman African American Museum is named in honor of Harriet Tubman, whose life and exploits were a major inspiration to the Museum's founder, Richard Keil.
