Cox Capitol Theatre

Enjoy new movies, classic films and live entertainment from comfortable seating while feasting on hot pizza, super subs and cold beer at the beautifully restored Cox Capitol Theatre.  A new high definition surround sound system transforms the historic stage into an incredible concert venue for a variety of live music from rock bands to first-class musical tours.

The historic Capitol Theatre first opened its doors in downtown Macon in 1916 and introduced fascinated audiences to the drama and glamour of the silver screen.  From silent movies to talkies, the theatre had a successful run and provided quality entertainment for 60 years before closing its doors in 1976.  After $1.2 Million of restoration work, this classic venue reopened its doors in 2006.
