Have you driven recently by “The Big House” at 2321 Vineville Avenue?  A New York construction company, owned by a dedicated Allman Brothers fan, has 20 workers doing roof work.  The exciting thing is that the company is donating their materials and labor to the Big House Foundation.  Oprah’s “Big Give” is contagious!

If you haven’t seen the orientation video shown in the 50-seat theater in the new Downtown Visitors Center, you must!  At the ADDY Awards this month, Macon CVB Staffers Janice Marshall and Ruth Sykes celebrated with Elliott and Beth Dunwody after their Bright Blue Sky Production Company won a GOLD for Cinematography, a GOLD for Audio/Visual Sales Presentation, and then BEST OF SHOW in the electronic category…all for the Song and Soul of the South video.  Tourists visiting the Center enjoy the video; but it manages to touch the heart-strings of Maconites.  Makes you proud to be living in Macon, Georgia!
