Appointed to the position of President & CEO by the CVB Board of Directors, Smith is responsible for the Bureau's overall daily operations, policies and marketing strategies.

"Smith is a destination marketing and sales executive whose leadership abilities and strategic thinking are what we need during this time of change and transition," said Ann Smith, CVB Board of Directors Chair. "Her 13 years of extensive knowledge of sales and management will help guide our mission of increasing sales for the new and existing inventory in Macon-Bibb County.

Relationships are important to Smith. She believes in communicating with community stakeholders to understand their needs while also establishing relationships with meeting planners, hoteliers, attractions and targeted markets, such as the lucrative SMERF (sports, medical, educational, reunion and fraternal) groups.
