Macon, Georgia - The Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a press conference on Monday, September 12th at 9:00 am in Room 313 at the Macon Centreplex. The press conference will be the kick-off for the 2011 Governor's Tourism Conference, the 75th Anniversary of Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park, and the unveiling of the new Official Visitors Guide for Macon, Georgia. The tentative itinerary is as follows:

9:00 am - Welcome Remarks & Introduction
9:05 am - Unveiling of the new CVB Official Visitors Guide
9:10 am - Remarks from Jim David, Director of Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park
9:20 am - Governor's Tourism Conference Kick-off

Kevin Langston, Deputy Commissioner for the Tourism Division at the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) and Tonya Rosado, Executive Director of the Kingsland Convention & Visitors Bureau will be in attendance to discuss the 2011 Governor's Tourism Conference. Refreshments will be served following the press conference.

The Governor's Tourism Conference is an annual event that gathers tourism professionals to share ideas, hear from industry experts, learn about trends and issues facing the tourism industry, and to educate themselves on the latest tools and techniques to promote tourism.
