Visit Macon and the Tubman Museum are hosting an 85th birthday celebration for Little Richard on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
The public can tour Little Richard's former Pleasant Hill home at 416 Craft St. beginning at 11 a.m. Mayor Robert Reichert and other community leaders will speak at the home.
The celebration will continue at the Tubman Museum from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and will highlight his contribution to music and the community.
Fun events at the celebration include Best Impersonator, Best Costume and Best Dancer, along with live music from American Blvd. It's free to the public.
On Dec. 2, Visit Macon's Soul Sights Tour will turn into a Rock Candy Little Richard Feature Tour at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Those tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for seniors, Macon residents, military and children.
