Macon, Georgia- The Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau (MBCCVB) will host its 34th annual meeting Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Middle Georgia State College from 12-2 p.m. The MBCCVB will share end of year results for the leisure, meetings & convention, and group tour markets.
The meeting will have a presentation from Steve Chandler, owner of branding and digital strategy firm, Chandlerthinks. Chandler is a brand strategist with experience in strategic planning and brand development for local, regional and national brands connected to the hospitality industries.
The 2014 Otis Hughes Tourism Spirit and B.J. Cain Top of the Line awards will also be presented during the tourism awards ceremony. The Otis Hughes Tourism award is given to a person who has contributed significantly to the Macon tourism industry and has given unending time, talent and skill to support Macon's tourism growth. The B.J. Cain Top of the Line award is presented to a person who works directly with a visitor at an attraction, restaurant and/or hotel/motel/inn and goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide an exemplary experience for the visitor.
