Macon, GA- The "I am Macon" program is an interactive customer service program designed to unite and educate the business community about the branding of Macon as a superior visitor and meeting destination. "I am Macon" is a free three-hour training workshop offered to inform and educate hospitality employees about Macon. Trained individuals will become "Macon Tourism Ambassadors," armed with information allowing them to provide superior customer service to Macon visitors.
The Macon-Bibb County Convention & Visitors Bureau (MBCCVB), partnering with Central Georgia Technical College, Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, I Love Macon and Main Street Macon, will initially present the program to city leaders, community partners and management employees in the service industry.
"By giving hospitality employees the tools to great customer service, we hope visitors will get a great experience when they are here in Macon," said Monica Smith, MBCCVB President & CEO. "By attending the program, hospitality employees will become our best resource in increasing visitor to our city."
The initial launch date for the program is Tuesday, January 22ndfrom 9-12 p.m. City leaders and community stakeholders have been invited to not only become the first participants of the program, but to also spread the word to tourism and service industry employees. Other program dates are: January 29th, 11:30-2:30 p.m.; February 5th, 3:30-6:30 p.m.; February 14th, 9-12 p.m.; February 27th, 2-5 p.m.; March 7th 9-12 p.m.
The mission of the MBCCVB is to unify and lead our community in marketing the Macon Bibb County area as a superior visitor and meeting destination.
