Macon, Georgia- The 28th annual Georgia Jr. Beta convention will be held on November 17-18, 2011 at the Macon Centreplex. This convention brings together approximately 6,000 Jr. Beta members, sponsors and chaperons throughout Georgia for two days of academic competitions, general sessions, talent, arts & crafts contests, leadership opportunities and motivational speeches.

Glenn Stribling, Assistant Director of National Beta Club, states, "We are happy to be back in Macon for the Georgia Jr. Beta convention. It is one of the largest Beta conventions in the country and gives the young people of Georgia a great opportunity to showcase their many talents. The hospitality that the people of Macon have shown the Beta Club is much appreciated."

There are 1,006 Jr. Beta chapters (grades 5-9) with 31,261 Jr. Beta members in Georgia, making Georgia the largest Jr. Beta Club state in the nation. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership. The first Georgia Jr. Beta convention took place at the Macon City Auditorium in 1983. In 1991, the convention moved to the Macon Centreplex and has remained at this location since that time.
