Macon, GA- The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) will host its 2014 Team Dual Wrestling Championships at the Macon Centreplex, January 9-11,2014. The tournament will begin Thursday afternoon at 4:30p.m. and conclude with the finals on Saturday at 5 p.m. An awards ceremony will follow the competition.
The Georgia High School Association has held the Georgia Team Dual Wrestling tournament in Macon since 2004. A total of 72 high schools will participate with more than 1000 individual wrestlers competing against others from across the state. Denis Tallini, Associate Director of the Georgia High School Association, states "The teams which have qualified for this event have already survived some very stiff area competition--they are the top teams in the state. This is an excellent opportunity for wrestling fans to see some great action."
The event is open to the public. Tickets are $7 on Thursday, $10 each for Friday and Saturday, and $24 for a three-day pass.
The mission of the GHSA is to promote education in Georgia from a mental, physical, and moral viewpoint, and to standardize and encourage participation in athletics.
