Macon, Georgia has been selected to host the 2011 "Fabulous 50's" Georgia Southern Miss State Scholarship Pageant. Georgia Southern Miss selects a different city in Georgia each year to host the State pageant. GSM state directors Jody Hodges and Lesley Shiver stated, "We are extremely proud of the state we live in and all the wonderful things it has to offer. We developed the GSM system with Educational Benefits being top priority. We feel that by moving the GSM pageant to different areas and regions of Georgia, we will be able to provide some wonderful educational and cultural experiences for each GSM contestant. We knew immediately when the 2011 theme of "Fabulous 50's was selected there was no place in Georgia except Macon to host Georgia Southern Miss.

The 2011 Georgia Southern Miss pageant will be treating contestants to some of the best activities that Macon has to offer! GSM famous "Fun Day" activities will include a trip to the Georgia Children's Museum for the Tiny and Little Miss Contestants; a picnic in the park for the Baby and Teeny Miss contestants, and a tour of some of Macon's wonderful historic homes and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame for the Junior, Teen, and Miss contestants. All contestants will be treated to "Movie Night" on Friday following prelim night.

The 2010 Georgia Southern Miss State Scholarship Pageant was held in Jekyll Island where contestants enjoyed a trip to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Summer Waves Water Park, Beach Party and Farewell Karaoke Party. The 2010 GSM state pageant awarded $24,675.00 in scholarships with Miss Georgia Southern Miss Lynsey Sanderson of Forsyth receiving $10,000.00. Teen Miss Ally Hollingsworth of Cairo received $5,000.00; Junior Miss Malone Powell of Albany received $2,500.00; Little Miss Blake Singletary of Camilla, Tiny Miss Abby Nobles of Baconton, Teeny Miss Cailyn Dean of Bainbridge and Baby Miss Chloe Terrell of Ludowici each received $1,000.00.

The 2011 GSM pageant will be held at Tattnall Square Academy on July 22 & 23 for Baby-Little Miss contestants and July 29 & 30 for Junior-Miss contestants. On Friday of both weekends, contestants will rehearse, interview and enjoy their Fun Day activity. Friday will also be preliminary night for Optional Talent, Modeling and Swimwear Competition. Saturday of both weekends will be the contestant introductions, evening gown competition and verbal communication. Springhill Marriott will serve as the GSM host hotel for both weekends.
