MACON, Ga. -- Mercer University will kick off against Austin Peay on Saturday at 7 p.m. for its season home opener at Five Star Stadium.

But the home of the Bears will be offering much more than football this season. With traditions like the Bear Walk continuing, new traditions like "Toby Town" and live music, there will be a new feel to gameday to create a true community event.

Toby Town will open at noon and includes a kids zone and Macon Beer Company 'Bear Garden.' As part of the Ford Concert Series, live music featuring The Gramblin' Band, Ethan Payne, Floco Torres and Molly Stevens will begin at 2 p.m.

Gates to Five Star Stadium open at 5:30 p.m.

WGXA's own Rick Devens will ring the bell as the Bears take the field for the first time this season.

Mercer Football partnered with Georgia Power to create a special '478 Day' themed hype video ahead of the home opener.
