The Macon-Bibb Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced the appointment of Robin North, CMP as Vice President of Convention Sales & Services and Megan Drew, TMP as a new Convention Sales Manager.
In making the announcement, Macon CVB President & CEO Monica Smith said Drew's previous CVB experience makes her a valuable addition and North brings to the organization exactly what is needed to take its already dynamic sales and service team to the next level for Macon.
"The accessibility, affordability and diverse attractions in Macon are news we need to spread far and wide," said Smith. "With Megan joining the sales team and Robin's oversight, we are perfectly situated to increase the awareness of Macon as one of Georgia's largest metropolitan areas."
North previously served as National Sales Manager for the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau and as Director of Sales & Marketing for the Georgia International Convention Center. She has earned the Certified Meeting Professional designation by the Convention Industry Council. The foremost certification of the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry, CMP recognizes individuals who have achieved the industry's highest standard of professionalism.
As VP of Convention Sales and Services, North will oversee a staff of three and is responsible for researching new group business opportunities for Macon-Bibb County, creating marketing packages matching hoteliers with area facilities and exposing prospective clients to the area's many attractions.
A graduate of both James Madison University and Mercer University, she is a member of the GA Society of Association Executives (GSAE) and was previously involved in the GA Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (GaMPI) and the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association (HSMA).
Drew most recently served as Communications Director for the Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Her prior experience included working as Tourism and Special Events Coordinator for the Eatonton-Putnam Co. Chamber of Commerce, where she worked with Macon CVB representatives in marketing Georgia's Historic Heartland Travel Association and Georgia's Antebellum Trail.
She is a graduate of Georgia College and State University and the Southeast Tourism Society's Marketing College, where she was awarded the Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) designation after three years of study.
