Macon, Georgia- The Tubman Museum will host a reading and book-signing with noted author Bernice McFadden on July 17, 2015 from 1:30-3:30 pm.
Ms. McFadden's most notable works are "Gather of Waters" which was reviewed by the Washington Post, and "Sugar" which also received positive reviews from Ebony Magazine and The New York Times. Her numerous awards include a New York Times "Notable Books of 2012", O Magazine's "Book to Watch" and an award for theWashington Post for "Best Fiction".
Ms. McFadden will be at the Tubman Museum as part of the Lester-Dukes Family reunion. Brenda Sutton, Ms. McFadden's relative, says "We're very excited to have her. We love her and we want to share our treasure with the Macon-Bibb community. We sincerely hope that others enjoy her work as much as we have." Ms. Sutton says McFadden writes "to breathe life back into memory."
The event is open to the public with Tubman Museum admission. Ms. McFadden's books will be available for purchase at the museum during the book signing.
