But Macon, just a little over an hour south of Atlanta in the heart of Georgia, offers a cultural landscape with architecture, rich music history, nightlife and soul, all on a budget.
A getaway to Macon boasts big value, without big spending. In fact, Trivago recently ranked Macon No. 4 on its "best value destinations" for travel in 2017.
"People have a chance to come and enjoy all that we have to offer and don't have to spend a lot of money," said Valerie Bradley, Vice President of Marketing for the Macon-Bibb County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
