Get ready to come out and celebrate Macon's own Douglass Theater, on August 22 and 23, as the theatre hosts the "Douglass Goes Digital Celebration." Thanks to generous contributions, the Douglass succeeded in raising $130,000 for the historic theatre's digital upgrades. To celebrate, the Douglass will feature free film screenings on August 22 featuring a new digital projector, 3D screen and other new equipment this weekend. The following films will be screened:
"Zambezia" 3-D screening at 12pm. Film is rated G.
"Home" at 2pm and 4pm. Film is rated PG.
"Big Game" at 6pm and 8pm. Film is rated PG-13.
The Douglass Goes Digital Celebration will conclude on August 23, with a contemporary Jazz concert by the legendary artist, Ronnie Laws. The show starts at 6 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $15 for friends of the Douglass. You will certainly be in for a big treat. This is a spectacular event you won't want to miss.
