Starting August 18, you can fly from Macon to Washington, D.C. Contour Airlines and Middle Georgia Regional Airport are partnering together to provide commercial flights in Macon once again. An introductory price of $49 each way is being offered now through July 26 and the fare is available for any flight through December 16.
After July 26, standard fees of $69-$199 each way will apply. There will be 12 weekly round trips offered each week with 2 every weekday and 1 on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight takes about 90 minutes, less time than it takes to drive to Atlanta from Macon.
The plane, which can hold 30 people, is being reconfigured so passengers have more legroom and feel like they're in first-class. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be offered on flights and the first checked bag is free.
