Here are some tips to create the perfect Mother's Day for your mom:
Take your mom out to have some fun in the sun at one of our beautiful parks at Lake Tobesofkee. Sandy Beach at Lake Tobo is open on Sunday from 9am-7pm. It has covered picnic pavilions, a softball field, and a lighted tennis court.
How about taking your mother to some award-winning non-chain restaurants that are just finger-lickin' good?
Make a stop down to downtown Macon at one of our famous restaurants: The Rookery. Famous for its hamburgers, you and your mother can just sit and enjoy the live music on the outside patio.
Want to take your mother out to enjoy an evening on a night of the town?
Macon Symphony Youth Orchestra Chamber Ensembles and Soloist
Stop by the Vineville United Methodist Church, located at 2045 Vineville Ave, from 4-6pm. There will be an orchestra of music and a soloist performing. This will surely be a divine sound for your mother's ears. This event is open to the public and has free admission.
Second Sunday with Margo & the Price Tags
One of Macon's favorite Sunday events is coming back for a spectacular concert. Tell your mom to bring her lawn chair and picnic blankets to enjoy live music and the breeze with you. Sponsored by Bragg Jam, this concert is free and starts at 6pm at Washington Park. Food is available for purchase.
"Timbuktu" Film Screening
Maybe your mother wants to watch a movie? The Macon Film Guild is hosting the Academy Award nominated film screening, "Timbuktu" at the Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon. The film has multiple screenings at 2, 4:30, and 7:30pm. The general admission fee is 6.00.
Yesterday's Antique Market
If your mom would rather have a gift, you definitely want to stop by Yesterday's Antiques. Just off of exit 171 on I-75 at 4821 Sheraton Drive, Yesterday's offers the most exquisite antique pottery and vintage trinkets. You still have time to shop because they're open on Saturday from 10am-6pm and on Sunday from 1-5pm.
With these wonderful events and beautiful gifts from Macon, your mother will certainly have a great Mother's Day!
