Friday, August 7 - First Friday!

Bike N' Bites featuring Roasted - Cafe and Lounge at College Hill Alliance
Bring you bike and ride with College Hill to lunch. Meet at 12 pm. The ride is free aside from the cost of food.

Opening Reception for "The Mark of the Pencil: New Colored Pencil Drawings by Mark Ballard"
This exhibit at The Gallery at Macon Arts Alliance features a collection of original colored pencil drawings by Macon artist Mark Ballard. The first official show of artwork in more than 25 years, "Mark of the Pencil" will feature new work by the acclaimed local artist. Viewing the exhibit is free and starts at 5 pm. The exhibit is on display through August 29.

Wesleyan Market (pictured above)
Stop at Wesleyan Market at Wesleyan College, located on 4760 Forsyth Rd, from 9am-1pm. You can purchase some of the healthiest and tastiest organic fruits, vegetables, and baked goods available. This event is every Second Saturday and is free to the public. For more information, call 478-757-5233.

Back to School Blast
Since school is almost back in session, take your children to check out the Back to School Blast at the Frank Johnson Community Center, located on 2227 Mercer University Drive. There will be free school supplies, food, and clothing, a health seminar and health screenings. Call 478-743-2587 for more information.

Sunday, August 9

Fort Hawkins
Go by Fort Hawkins historic site, located on Maynard Street at Emery Highway from noon- 4pm. Explore their American Frontier, the Blockhouse replica and the visitor's center.

"I'll See You in my Dreams" movie screening 
Maybe you want to go to the movies? The Douglass Theatre, located on 355 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd is having a film screening "I'll see you in my dreams," hosted by the Macon Film Guild. The cost is $6 to attend. For more information, you can contact 478-742-2000 or go to www.maconfilmguild.org.

Second Sunday Concert Series
This will surely be a good ‘ole music festival to attend with the kids and your pets. Sponsored by Bragg Jam, this praise party will feature the Soul Intentions, Ministers of Praise, Anointed Ones and the Beulaland Bible Church Mass Choir. A cash bar and food will be available for purchase. This event is free to the public.
