On May 16, Gov't Mule, featuring Warren Haynes, Matt Abts, Jorgen Carlson and Danny Louis, makes it way back to Macon, a city where the band's roots run deep. The band originally formed in 1994 as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band by guitarist Haynes and bassist Allen Woody, along with drummer Abts, and as Haynes told Jam Base in 2012, “Our first rehearsals were at the one-time living quarters of the Allman Brothers Band known as The Big House in Macon, GA….A lot of our growth as a band took place in front of Georgia audiences.” After Woody's untimely death in 2000, keyboardist Louis joined in 2002 and bassist Carlson became permanent in 2009. The Southern rock, blues and funk jam band has released nine studio albums total plus numerous EPs and live efforts.
