The third weekend in September welcomes one of the largest Native American gathering in the Southeast as more than 200 craftsmen, dancers, storytellers, living history demonstrators and others with ties to the region return to Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon, Georgia. Named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society, the celebration shares this vital piece of American history with some 17,000+ guests to the monument each year, allowing new generations to understand the Native American heritage, arts, and culture first-hand through interaction and observation.   Discover the mounds, artifacts and nature within the 702-acre National Monument. The Visitor Center, featuring over 2,000 artifacts and displays, will be open to the public. This year the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration celebrates its 25th year.
