Rachel Forehand began playing guitar at the age of eighteen. She is a Macon, Georgia born and bred musician/singer/songwriter. She’s still based in Macon where she composes music inspired by the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, JJ Grey & Mofro, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
Growing up, her father, Dwayne Forehand played guitar for over forty years and her drummer uncle, Keith Forehand, played in a band in the 80/90's called "The Lifters" -- a local favorite who opened up for The Allman Brothers several times.
Rachel has been involved in several songwriters round in Canton, Ga and Monteagle, TN at Jim Oliver’s Smokehouse. Over the last two years she’s played shows in Georgia - Statesboro, Macon, Athens, Perry, Jasper, Canton and more. Be on the look out for show dates as Rachel performs consistently in the Southern Market.
She finished her first EP Six Strings & Day Dreams during 2021 at GiftHorse records in Athens, Ga with Steven Ledbetter. Featured artists include Steven Ledbetter, Daniel Murdock, Dustin Murdock, and Dwayne Forehand. The album will contain six original tracks. Stay tuned for the release date coming this Summer.
Not only does Rachel do solo/duo shows but has been involved with several bands "Rachel Forehand and 'The Ramblers' and "Black Jacket Bandolier".
