Macon, Georgia is slowly reopening. Our attractions, restaurants, venues and hoteliers are commited to providing safe and enjoyable experiences for our visitors. Please use this as your resourse while making travel plans and check back often for any new updates. As we move through Phase One of our reopening, we would like you to know Macon is here when you are ready to travel again. We cannot wait to be part of your next Macon adventure.

Macon It Safe is a campaign for Macon-Bibb workplaces, businesses, and organizations to protect the health and well-being of our community by following COVID-19 safety guidelines, encouraging employees and customers to wear masks, and promoting social distancing. By committing to Macon It Safe, we are pledging to create an environment within our places of business that prioritizes the health of our patrons and employees.
Macon Area Openings
Many Macon Area restaurants, retailers and attractions have begun to reopen. We recommend you visit our Partner and Attraction Update for some of the most recent information regarding new operating hours, expected reopening dates and current closures. Some future events and festivals have been cancelled or postponed. That infomation can also be found here.
At this time, Visit Macon is currently making additions to attraction, hotel and local business listings to include COVID-19 related amenities, like complimentary hand santizer, mask requirements and more. We encourage you to visit individual website listings for specific information regarding amenity offerings. Business phone numbers are available for those who would like to speak with a representative directly.

Downtown Macon Visitors Center
The Downtown Macon Visitors Information Center has reopened begining June 1. Destination specialists are available to assist guests with their travel plans and offer up-to-date information on area attractions, hoteliers, restaurants and retailers. For those who would like to speak to a destination specialist over the phone, please call 478-743-1074 or 800-768-3401.
Hours
Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The following safety precautions regarding COVID-19 have been made:
- All visitors center staff are required to wear masks.
- The visitors center will undergo routine daily cleaning and sanitation.
- The visitors center occupancy is set to no more than 25 persons, as Georgia state guidelines recommend.
- No more than two persons will be allowed in facility restrooms at a time.
- Hand santizer is availble to all guests.

Restaurants and Retailers
Many Downtown and local Macon businesses have adjusted hours and offerings making their services safe and easy for guests. Our local retailers and restaurants are commited to adhearing to CDC and government health guidelines, while providing quality service.
Our Macon businesses have ways you can support them while being responsible and social distancing. Consider purchasing a giftcard, shopping their online stores, or making purchases through Facebook and Instagram. Many of our restaurants are offering curbside pickup and takeout, in addition to dine-in options.
