...has a wonderfully busy month of October! From annual festivals to brand new events, Macon is ready to combine its heritage and love for family fun for a jam-packed month. Be sure to stop by one of these featured events to get into the fall season!
Spirits in October
October 18-21 & 25-28 from 6-8:30 p.m.
Join the Historic Riverside Cemetery Conservancy as they present “Till Death Do Us Part”, a one hour tour honoring the inspiring people that made Macon as we know it. This annual event will happen on the weekends of October 18-21st and October 25-28th. Tours will begin at 6:00 p.m. and leave every fifteen minutes until 6:45 p.m. The cemetery is asking that guests arrive 15 minutes prior to tour time. Visitors will get an enriching tour given by actors in historic attire and will receive light refreshments following the tour. Tickets will cost $15 per person.

11th Annual Central Georgia Greek Festival
October 19-21st
Come out to the Central Georgia Greek Festival for church tours, live music, live dancing, authentic Greek food, art, shopping, jewelry, and religious artifacts! This annual festival begins at 11 a.m. on October 19th, and will close at 3 p.m. on October 21st. Visitors will be able to taste authentic Greek food ranging from Spanakopita to Baklava that the whole family will love. Be sure to come on out to the 11th Annual Central Georgia Greek Festival to learn more about Greek heritage and have lots of family fun!

Pumpkin Carving Competition and Pumpkin Night Walk
October 27th, 12-1 & 2-4
Mark your calendars for the first pumpkin carving contest at the Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park on October 27th from 12-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Winners for each age group will be announced at 6:55 p.m. and will receive a $15 gift card to the museum store! Following the contest, guests can take a one mile round trip walk with Park Rangers to the Great Temple Mound from 7-8 p.m. Be sure to check out the competition website for rules and additional information.

Lane Orchards Corn Maze and Fall Festival - CANCELED
Lane Orchards is your one stop shop for fun fall activities right here in Central Georgia! This year’s Fall Festival will take place on October 20th from 11-5 p.m., and the Corn Maze will be the general public Wednesday-Friday from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m-6 p.m. throughout the month of October. This year’s maze will feature Mercer University’s Mascot, Toby the Bear!
Admission Rates: Ages 3 and Under Free, 55+ and Military get a 10% Discount

The LAST Nevermore Hills Haunted Trail
October 19-31st
Hosted by the Museum of Aviation Foundation, the Nevermore Hills Haunted Trail is one of Middle Georgia’s favorite spooky destinations! This year’s trail will be on October 19, 20, 26, 27, and 31st from 8-11 p.m. Additionally, a toned down version of the trail will be offered from 7-8 p.m. on Saturdays. This will be the last year of the haunted trail, so be sure to stop by and get spooked!
Regular Ticket Pricing: $22 Combo Haunted Trail/Attic Ticket, $15 Haunted Trail Only, $8 Attic Only

Trick-Or-Treat in Downtown Macon
October 31st
On Halloween from 4pm to 7pm, downtown Macon businesses and organizations will open their doors to trick-or-treaters. Families are invited to visit downtown retailers and restaurants in our walkable and safe urban core. Furry friends are welcome too!
Participating retailers will pass out candy and dog treats. Free face painting will be provided by The 567 Center for Renewal and Main Street Macon will have supplies for decorating festive treat bags on First Street.
