Macon's International Cherry Blossom Festival

March 17-26, 2023

The Cherry Blossom Festival allows all to enjoy the beauty of more than 350,000 Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom; the most in the world! We invite you to "Eat, Drink, and Be Cherry" as you "Think Pink" and join in the celebration with events, concerts, exhibits, outdoor fair, arts and crafts, food and more.

Mulberry Street Arts & Crafts Festival/Cherry Street Market

When the cherry trees are blooming and Macon comes alive with the beauty of springtime, it's time for Central Georgia's oldest arts & crafts festival hosted by the Middle Georgia Art Association.

Magnolia Soap Box Derby 

April 8, 2023

This free family-friendly annual event brings the excitement of a soap box derby® race to Macon each year. Thousands come from around the region to participate or watch the races, boogey to the music of world-renowned DJ's, peruse the offerings of food/beer/sweets vendors, dance to the beats of the StreetLine drum corp, and much more. 

Fired Works: Regional Ceramics Exhibition & Sale

April 14- 22, 2023

Fired Works is a nine-day event that is hosted by the Macon Arts Alliance featuring more than 4,000 functional and sculptural pieces from 65 Southeastern artists along with workshops and other festivities.

Tubman Pan African Festival

April 22- 23, 2023

The Tubman Museum hosts this two-day festival centered on the themes of love, peace, unity and hope. Enjoy the celebration, the experience, and the presentations of music, dance, food, film, art, and spoken word, as we explore the dynamic and diverse cultures created from the African Diaspora.

Bragg Jam

July 29, 2023

Bragg Jam came to fruition as a memorial to Macon brothers Brax and Tate Bragg and includes rockin' concerts featuring local, regional and national acts, as well as arts, children's events, a 5k and more. Proceeds benefit the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail and other local civic improvements.

Macon Film Festival

The Macon Film Festival celebrates independent films while promoting filmmaking for entertainment, inspiration, education, and economic development.

Big "O" Homecoming Weekend

September 8 - 9, 2023

This annual event celebrates the life and legacy of Otis Redding, presented by The Otis Redding Foundation. During the two days, several artists perform in honor of the Macon legend at the Grand Opera House and Hargray Capitol Theatre. This event is held on Otis Redding's birthday!

Ocmulgee Indigenous Celebration

September 16-17, 2023

The third weekend in September welcomes one of the largest Native American gatherings in the Southeast as more than 200 craftsmen, dancers, storytellers, living history demonstrators and others with ties to the region return to Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park in Macon, Georgia. The celebration shares this vital piece of American history with some 17,000+ guests to the monument each year, allowing new generations to understand the Native American heritage, arts, and culture first-hand through interaction and observation.

Macon Pride Week

Last week of September leading up to October 1st

Macon Pride Week is held the last week of September, leading up to the county's official Pride Day on October 1st. The week offers exciting events such as drag shows, theatrical specials, a pride pageant, live music, vendor booths, drag and tons of FUN! This event is held to celebrate and provide resources for the LGBTQIA+ community. 

Central Georgia Greek Festival

Macon Beer Fest

October 14, 2023

Started in 2010, the Macon Beer Fest has grown into one of Georgia’s premier craft beer events. The event offers over 50 varieties of beer for its regular ticket holders and several additional special beers for its VIP guests. What makes the event unique, is that its purpose is to educate men about the risks of prostate cancer. You can say it’s a health fair disguised as a beer festival – It’s a party for a cause!

Macon Burger Week

Are you ready for the Beefiest week Macon has ever seen? We're talking 7 days of stretchy pants, meat sweats and greasy fingers, a week Macon's burger lovers have longed for.

Fire & Ice Pottery Show

November 10 - 18, 2023

Fire & Ice is a seven-day event that is hosted by the Macon Arts Alliance featuring thousands of works from more than 30 ceramic and glass artists from Central Georgia and the Southeast. The event features virtual studio visits, workshops and other festivities. Event located in the Round Building at Carolyn Crayton Park. 

Festival of Trees

Beginning November 10, 2023 - January 2023

Kick off your holiday season by viewing this festive exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Sciences. All trees are made by Central Georgia artists, businesses, and community organizations.

Macon Christmas Light  Extravaganza

Beginning November 25, 2023

See a light show unlike any other in historic downtown Macon! The Main Street Christmas Light Show Extravaganza is feast for the eyes and ears. Thousands and thousands of lights adorn the trees, bushes, and features of the Poplar Street median in a rainbow of colors guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
