Tourism is a powerful jobs and economic development generator in Macon. In 2014, traveler expenditures contributed $328.37 million to Macon's economy. These expenditures supported 3,309 jobs and produced $78.97 million in resident wages earned, generated $8.94 million in local tax revenue and $12.96 million in state tax revenue.*
